The Deputy Minister for Food and Drug at the Ministry of Public Health held a meeting and discussion with the Head of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan and his accompanying delegation on Saturday afternoon, 17 Shawwal 1447 AH, at the conference hall of the Food and Drug Deputy Ministry.
The meeting was attended by Alhaj Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, Deputy Minister for Food and Drug, along with heads and advisors of various departments of the deputy ministry. From the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Azizov, Head of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency, participated along with a technical delegation and several pharmaceutical sector traders.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Uzbek delegation was warmly welcomed by the Food and Drug Deputy Ministry, and emphasis was placed on strengthening trade relations, as well as expanding technical and regulatory cooperation between the two countries. Commitment was also made to implement the signed Memorandums of Understanding between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan and to facilitate the registration process of pharmaceutical companies.
During the meeting, key topics were discussed, including the registration of Uzbek companies in Afghanistan, ensuring the supply of high-quality and affordable medicines, presenting the capacities and advancements of Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical industry, and enhancing the capacity of Afghan specialists. The Uzbek delegation also expressed its readiness to share technical expertise and cooperate in training and capacity-building initiatives.
The meeting concluded with the distribution of gifts to the participants.
