The Deputy Minister of Food and Medicine Traveled to Balkh Province
Respected Alhaj Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, Deputy Minister of Food and Medicine at the Ministry of Public Health, traveled to Balkh Province along with his technical team. During this visit, he inspected the progress of the construction work of the Food and Medicine Laboratory. This laboratory is considered one of the largest and most well-equipped food and medicine laboratories in the northern zone, and it will play an important role in controlling the quality of food items, medicines, and health products. Its completion will be an effective step toward ensuring public health and preventing low-quality products from entering the market.
Furthermore, the respected Deputy Minister of Food and Medicine met with the officials of Hairatan Customs and Naibabad Customs, where discussions and exchange of views took place regarding various issues related to the monitoring, control, and regulation of imports of food items, medicines, and health products. In these meetings, emphasis was placed on stronger coordination between the Food and Medicine Deputy Ministry and customs authorities in order to prevent the entry of substandard and smuggled products.
In continuation, Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid reviewed the existing challenges and problems faced by food and medicine staff in Balkh Province and requested greater cooperation and support from the relevant authorities to resolve these issues. Customs officials also welcomed this proposal and promised full cooperation in addressing the existing challenges and facilitating work processes.
This visit took place while the Food and Medicine Deputy Ministry of the Ministry of Public Health is striving to strengthen monitoring, expand technical infrastructure, and increase coordination among relevant institutions in order to ensure the provision of standard and safe food and medicines for the citizens of the country.
