The Deputy Minister of Food and Drugs, at the head of a delegation, departed for the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Respected Al-Haj Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, Deputy Minister of Food and Drugs of the Ministry of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, on Tuesday, dated 25 Jumada al-Thani 1447 AH, at the head of a delegation comprising the heads of evaluation and registration of medicines and food products, technical advisers of the deputy ministry, and representatives of the import departments, traveled to the Islamic Republic of Iran and held a meeting and discussions with Respected Dr. Mehdi Pir-Salehi, Deputy Minister of Health and Head of the Food and Drug Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran, along with his accompanying team.
During this meeting, the two sides held comprehensive discussions on issues such as strengthening regulatory and commercial relations, exchanging experiences, and technical cooperation to enhance the regulatory systems between the two neighboring countries; implementing the provisions of the concluded regulatory memorandum of understanding; enhancing the capacity of Afghan experts; and facilitating the process of importing food and medicines into the country.
It is worth noting that some time earlier, a high-level delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran had visited the Food and Drug Deputy Ministry and held discussions with its officials regarding bilateral cooperation and the facilitation of the import process of food and medicines into the country.
