A coordination meeting on the commitments of the Food and Drug Deputy Ministry of the Ministry of Public Health with the World Trade Organization (WTO) was held.
The coordination meeting to follow up on the commitments of the Food and Drug Deputy Ministry with officials of the World Trade Organization (WTO) took place on Wednesday, dated 26 Jumada al-Thani 1447 AH, with the aim of facilitating the country’s access to international markets for trade. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Industry and Commerce, Agriculture, representatives of the General Directorate of Planning and Policy, and officials of the pharmaceutical departments of the Deputy Ministry, and was held in the conference hall of the Food and Drug Deputy Ministry.
At the beginning of the meeting, Respected Al-Hafiz Dr. Naeemullah Ayubi, Director General of Regulation of Medicines and Health Products and Inspector of the Deputy Ministry, welcomed the guests and described the organization of such meetings as valuable in creating facilities for the country’s trade, especially the export and import of medicines and food products. He provided participants with information regarding the facilities created by the Food and Drug Deputy Ministry and the issuance of health certificates for exported food products, and emphasized that the Food and Drug Deputy Ministry is committed to complying with all obligations of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Subsequently, Respected Abdul Wakil Muslim, Head of the World Trade Organization (WTO), presented the required topics to the participants through a presentation.
It is worth noting that Afghanistan obtained membership in this organization in 2016.
