Coordination Meeting Held to Review the Pharmaceutical Market Situation and Address Traders’ Challenges
Today, Tuesday, corresponding to 15 Sha‘ban 1447 AH, Honorable Al-Hafiz Dr. Naeemullah Ayubi, Director General of Pharmaceutical and Health Products Regulation, along with the heads of pharmaceutical departments of the Food and Drug Deputy Ministry and its specialists, held a meeting with the officials and members of the Union of Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Importers at the meeting hall of the Food and Drug Deputy Ministry.
During the meeting, both sides discussed and exchanged views on several key issues, including: preliminary arrangements for a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh aimed at facilitating pharmaceutical imports for Afghan traders; review of reports regarding shortages of certain imported pharmaceutical items in the domestic market; prevention of drug hoarding and price hikes in pharmaceutical markets; acceleration of work processes; enhancement of facilitation for issuing pharmaceutical proforma invoices; and initiation of the registration process for health products.
It is worth noting that the leadership of the Ministry of Public Health has recently achieved significant agreements during their visits to neighboring and regional countries, which could serve as a suitable alternative to the halted Pakistani pharmaceutical imports.
