Director General of Drug and Health Products Regulation Travels to Bangladesh
Hafiz Dr. Naimullah Ayubi, Director General of Drug and Health Products Regulation at the Ministry of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, traveled to Bangladesh as part of an official delegation led by H.E. Mawlawi Ahmadullah Zahid, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, with the aim of expanding bilateral cooperation.
During this visit, meetings will be held with senior officials of Bangladesh’s drug regulatory authority to discuss a number of important issues related to the regulation, supervision, and quality control of medicines and health products. In addition, the technical delegation of the Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan will visit pharmaceutical manufacturing factories in Bangladesh to closely observe production processes and quality standards.
Furthermore, the visit will include a review of the follow-up and implementation of the memorandum of understanding in the pharmaceutical sector, which was previously discussed during an online meeting between the drug regulatory authorities of the two countries. Discussions will also focus on accelerating the registration and evaluation processes of Bangladeshi pharmaceutical manufacturing companies and their products.
One of the key objectives of this visit is to encourage Bangladeshi pharmaceutical companies to invest in pharmaceutical manufacturing in Afghanistan, either independently or in partnership with Afghan companies.
